Mini Poll: Coffee Break

Each day, more than a billion cups of coffee are placed in front of devotees (see also "addicts"). More likely than not, the action is highly stylized, like a dance or the administration of medication. Most coffee drinkers have strong preferences about their favorite brews. Light roast, flavored, travel mug, sugared, vente, fortified, topped with foam, Fair Trade, predigested by birds, fast food or French pressed ... there are enough choices and combinations to tax a supercomputer.
Coffee is Big Business. Globally, it employs more than 20 million people and beans trade on international commodity markets on a par with petroleum. Locally, hundreds of places serve or sell coffee. Dozens of neighborhood and chain coffee shops compete for customers. Several important coffee roasters have moved, opened, or expanded their operations in the City of St. Louis -- extending a tradition that extends back to the time St. Louis was the last place to buy coffee until settlers reached the Pacific Ocean.
This week's perky Mini-Poll tries to calibrate your coffee preferences. Although MayorSlay.com runs on liquid caffeine, we acknowledge in advance that we probably forgot to list your favorite coffee shop. That’s what the comment section is for, right?
