Mini Poll: If St. Louis Were A Reality Series
Reality programming is as old as television, but it was the phenomenal success of a more recent pair of shows, Survivor and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, that fundamentally changed how and what we watch on TV - and, almost as certainly, how we watch each other.
The distance between us and TV reality has shrunk. Who among us has not, while channel surfing, become shamelessly enthralled watching When Animals Attack, Rock of Love, or Operation Repo? Or called and texted our votes to determine the careers of the competitors on Dancing With The Stars or American Idol? Or known someone (or at least know someone who knows someone) who has been on a dating show, a court show, a talk show, a game show, or a self-improvement, or makeover show?
Day-to-day reality doesn't have the luxury of "story editing," and we can't always pick the most attractive (or, in some cases, the most confrontational) characters to exist in our world. But, what if we could? We agree that the idea might be a little too Big Brother for most of us, but - just in case - we want to know who, what, or where you think would win. This week's Mini-Poll lets you become the producer of a reality show, and asks you to cast it with your favorite St. Louis citizens, neighborhoods, and issues.
Answer this week's Mini-Poll and we promise not to lure the producers of Bravo's Real Housewives Of... series to St. Louis, even though we could think of a few choice characters.
