There is probably a useful poll possible comparing the different patterns of urban and suburban dating. Such an instrument would test the theories that population density; cultural and economic diversity; and the range of entertainment options change social habits. It would determine whether or not a date that began at the corner of Euclid and Maryland would be qualitatively different from one that started off (or ended up) at Westport.
This is not that poll.
Like every other poll conducted by MayorSlay.com, this week’s poll happily shows off its bias towards the restaurants, theaters, clubs, and residents of the City of St. Louis – presuming the dating experiences of the people who live or work in the City are superior to those who reside and toil elsewhere.
Many of MayorSlay.com’s (female) friends are eagerly awaiting the opening of the Big Screen version of television’s (HBO, 1998-2004) popular romantic sit-com, Sex and the City. The new movie, which will open in St. Louis next week, promises to catch up on the lives of four urban women, whose amorous adventures were appointment television for plenty of St. Louis women – and a boon for shakers of cosmopolitans and sellers of fashionable shoes.
We really don’t care if you plan to see the movie, and you certainly don’t have to have watched the show to complete this week’s Mini-Poll about urban dating. If you have a pulse and a pal, you’ll do just fine.
