City Samples 14
One of the Midwest’s most popular races has a new name Go! St. Louis and a whole new attitude.
For confirmation of both, sit down with ebullient Nancy Lieberman, the president of the organization that organizes the former St. Louis Marathon – and a year’s worth of attention to the region’s health.
Nancy knows that a healthy, fit St. Louis needs a lot more than a finish line it crosses once a year. And Nancy knows that it is really marathoners’ family, friends, and neighbors – not those roadway runners that most need the motivation to shape up.
Judging by Nancy’s favorite St. Louis sound, she’s aware that a little positive encouragement goes a long way. As she told us, it’s no coincidence that her organization’s new name is also a cheer.
Thanks to Big Picture’s Mike DeFilippo for the image of some City racers.
