Smoking Joe’s Barbecue, located at 1901 Washington Avenue, is one of Downtown’s newest eateries. It’s the brainchild of Smoking Joe[l] himself, the restaurant’s owner and executive chef, Joel Rozelle. Serving Memphis-style barbeque specialties like pulled pork, brisket, and--of course--ribs, this BBQ joint has an upscale feel with reasonable prices and large quantities.
MayorSlay.com caught up with Joel to ask him his favorite sound in St. Louis. Suprisingly, it’s not the sound of meat sizzling on the grill or the squirting sound of tangy barbeque sauce, but still lends itself well to a picnic.
