From the CVC:
Dear CVC Members:
As we turn the corner into 2012, I wanted to share with you some exciting information concerning the impact we’re experiencing from hosting the ASAE Annual Meeting this past August. There is no doubt that “seeing is believing” and the 5,368 ASAE delegates were simply blown away by what they saw during their stay in our community. We can’t thank you enough for all you did to make their experience memorable and rewarding. As a result of our community-wide effort, John Bettag and his sales team have posted some impressive results capturing 5 definite pieces of business and 61 tentative association bookings from ASAE leads. The five groups that have selected St. Louis include NAFSA: Association for International Educators (May, 2013), National Association of Pastoral Musicians (July, 2014 verbal definite), American Payroll Association (October, 2012), North American Nature Photography Association (March, 2012) and Melting Pot Restaurants (March, 2012). These define bookings will yield an estimated 30,651 room nights and $11,743,060 in direct spending. The tentative bookings represent 259,415 hotel room nights and estimated direct expenditures of $150,719,500.
With an outstanding 2012 convention line-up including the July visit of Meeting Professionals International’s World Education Congress, we have great momentum to carry us forward in repositioning St. Louis as a preferred meeting destination.
Thanks so much for your support – here’s to a productive and profitable 2012!
